English Week Celebration at MIT VGS Pandharpur

English Week was organized at MIT VGS Pandharpur between 13 and 17 June 2022, the main objective being to enhance language proficiency, confidence and body language. The challenge this year was to eradicate the fear of stage performance and public speaking.
An array of interesting activities was organized during the week.
Students of grade I & II sang wonderful poems with props and lent a very encouraging start to the event. During the show and Tell competition they brought objects like toys from home and spoke about it. They described the colour, shape, size and their feelings about the object.
It was a cherry on the cake when the Class VII and VIII students performed Ted Talk with the help of slides. All the topics had some motivational message which was summarized at the end of each presentation. The students of grade V & VI created advertisements of different products of day today use. Their salesmanship was really praiseworthy.
During the debate competition students presented their views vociferously for and against “the Social Media”. Students from both sides spoke with conviction and a thought provoking exchange of arguments and counter-arguments.
Radio Show by grade IX and Monologue acting by grade X students added more colours and value to the English Week event. Acting, dialogue delivery, expressions and body language of the performers impressed the audience. English Week activities gave all the students an opportunity to improve their stage confidence and English Communicating and writing skills.
